Brian Kolenich

 is a seasoned leader with 30+ years in nonprofit healthcare, specializing in performance excellence and agile strategy. As an executive director, he spearheaded an active aging ecosystem in the Mahoning Valley, securing $1.8M for innovative initiatives, including advanced aquatic therapy and the Mahoning Valley Lifelong Learning Institute.

A dedicated Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Master Examiner since 2003, Brian has played a key role in evaluating and advancing performance excellence nationwide. He also served as a Judge for the Partnership for Excellence, guiding organizations in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, and West Virginia toward performance excellence.

A recognized expert in Strategic Doing, Brian became a Certified Workshop Lead in 2018 and a Fellow of the Strategic Doing Institute in 2022. In 2023, he launched the Active Aging Ideation Lab, a pioneering initiative to reshape aging through innovation, workshops, and practitioner training.

As the founder of The Strategic Sandbox, Brian helps healthcare and nonprofit organizations navigate complex challenges with a unique blend of Baldrige rigor and agile methodologies, driving sustainable success and strategic impact.
